Our Commitment to Privacy

Bravo Claims is built by a veteran for veterans. We believe in privacy and transparency. This policy explains what information we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.

Information We DON'T Collect

We do NOT collect:

• Social Security numbers or VA file numbers
• Personal health information
• Location data beyond general geographic region
• Account credentials (we don't have accounts)
• Names (unless you voluntarily provide them via contact or newsletter forms)

Information We DO Collect

We collect minimal, anonymous data to keep the site running:

1. Analytics Data (via Google Analytics)

• Pages you visit
• Time spent on the site
• Browser type and device type
• General geographic region (city/state level)
• Referral source (how you found us)

This helps us understand which tools are most useful and how to improve the site. All analytics data is anonymized and aggregated.

2. AI Chat Queries

When you use the VA Coach AI tool, your questions are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses. We do NOT store your chat history or link it to your identity. Each session is independent and anonymous.

3. Local Storage (Browser Only)

Some features use your browser's local storage to save data on YOUR device only:

• Saved diagnostic codes
• Calculator inputs
• Daily AI message count

This data never leaves your device. We cannot see it. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser data.

4. Newsletter and Contact Forms

If you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter or submit a contact form, we collect:

• Your email address
• Your name (optional, if you provide it)
• Any message content you submit

This information is processed through Formspree and is used solely to:

• Respond to your inquiries
• Send you updates about new features (newsletter subscribers only)
• Build a subscriber list for potential future communications

We will never sell your email address or use it for purposes other than those stated above. You can request removal from our newsletter list at any time by contacting us.

5. Community Discussions

Each diagnostic code page on Bravo Claims includes a community discussion section powered by Giscus and GitHub Discussions. When you post a comment:

• You must sign in with your GitHub account (Bravo Claims does not receive your GitHub password)
• Your GitHub username, profile picture, and comment content are publicly visible
• Comments are stored in our public GitHub repository: bravoclaims-discussions
• All comments are governed by GitHub's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

Important: Comments are public and searchable. Do not share:

• Your Social Security Number, VA claim number, or other identifying information
• Private medical records or detailed personal health information
• Information about other people without their consent

We moderate discussions to maintain a respectful community. See our Code of Conduct. You can delete or edit your own comments via GitHub. To request removal of your comments, contact us or delete them directly on GitHub.

Mobile App

Bravo Claims is available as both a website and a mobile app for iOS. The mobile app:

• Contains the same tools and features as the website
• Follows the same privacy practices outlined in this policy
• Stores your saved codes and calculator data locally on your device only
• Does not collect any additional data beyond what's described in this policy
• Does not access your contacts, photos, or other personal data on your device

The app is essentially a secure container for the web version of Bravo Claims, providing a native mobile experience while maintaining the same privacy standards.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for:

• Google Analytics tracking (anonymous)
• Session management for AI chat

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but analytics won't track your visit.

Third-Party Services

We use these third-party services:

• Cloudflare: Hosts our website and provides security
• Google Analytics: Provides anonymous usage statistics
• OpenAI: Powers the AI chat feature
• Stripe: Processes donations (handles payment data securely)
• Formspree: Handles contact form and newsletter submissions
• Apple App Store: Distributes the iOS mobile app
• Big Cartel: Hosts our merchandise shop (processes orders, payment, and shipping data)
• Printful: Fulfills merchandise orders (handles printing and shipping)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We chose services that respect user privacy.

Note: If you make a purchase from our shop (bravoclaims.bigcartel.com), your payment and shipping information is collected and processed by Big Cartel and Printful, not by Bravo Claims. We do not have access to your payment card information. See Big Cartel's Privacy Policy and Printful's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

How We Use Your Information

The limited data we collect is used to:

• Improve the tools and user experience
• Monitor site performance and uptime
• Prevent abuse of the AI chat feature
• Understand which features are most valuable

We do NOT:

• Sell your data
• Share it with advertisers
• Use it for marketing
• Link it to your identity

Sponsors and Partners

Bravo Claims may feature veteran-owned businesses, sponsors, or partners on our website and mobile app. These are clearly labeled and displayed in dedicated sections (such as the "Veteran-Owned" section on the homepage).

• Some partnerships may be paid sponsorships, while others are unpaid features of veteran-owned businesses we support
• We will never share your personal data with sponsors or partners
• Sponsors do not have access to our analytics, user data, or newsletter list
• Featured businesses have their own privacy policies if you choose to visit their websites

The presence of a sponsor or partner does not constitute an endorsement of their products or services. We feature veteran-owned businesses to support the veteran community.

Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect data:

• HTTPS encryption for all connections
• Secure hosting with Cloudflare
• No storage of sensitive personal information
• Regular security updates

Your Rights & Privacy Controls

You have the right to:

• Opt out of Google Analytics: Visit our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page to instantly opt out of all analytics tracking
• Request removal from our newsletter subscriber list
• Request a copy of any personal information we have about you
• Request deletion of your email address from our records
• Clear your browser's local storage anytime (instructions on our opt-out page)
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block analytics across all websites
• Use the site without providing any personal information

California & State Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident or resident of another state with privacy laws, you have additional rights:

• Do Not Sell or Share: We do NOT sell your personal information. However, Google Analytics may be considered "sharing" under some state laws. You can opt out at our opt-out page.
• Access Your Data: You can request what data we've collected about you (likely just your email if you subscribed to our newsletter)
• Delete Your Data: You can request deletion of your data at any time
• Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights - all tools remain 100% free

Children's Privacy

Bravo Claims is designed for veterans and their families. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
